Investing in Art

Investing in art is becoming more and more popular everyday, as portfolio managers look to further diversify their investments.  Some are put off by the mystery of the art market, while others are concerned with the lack of regular dividend and the big questions, what’s worth buying and why?

Abstract Australis is endeavouring to simplify investment in art by, arranging an income stream from your investment and helping you make the right choice of artist & artwork.

Although we can’t guarantee short term capital gains, we can assist you with a choice of works by emerging or collectable Australian artists with solid Auction/ secondary market history.

We can arrange the lease of some artworks purchased from us and we can also provide you with an annual update on achieved prices for relevant works by Artists in your portfolio.

Many people consider purchasing works of art for their Superannuation Fund, only to discover they can’t satisfy the stringent (Sole Purpose) Tax laws governing Superannuation Fund investments. (Refer link below)

Abstract Australis provides an avenue to rent your investment artwork to secure lessees and an annual update on your works value to assist with insurance. We can even rent you a work from someone else’s collection, so you have something to enjoy while the lessee pays for the pleasure of your artwork.

Naturally, as with all important investments, you should consult your financial adviser before making any decisions.  If need be, we can put you in touch with a suitably qualified consultant.
